What to Expect at Your First Visit

Your first appointment is a chance for us to get to know you and your smile. A typical new patient visit includes:

1. A review of your health history and concerns. Tell us about any pain, sensitivity or cosmetic goals.
2. A thorough exam of your teeth, gums and the soft tissues of your mouth.
3. Digital X-rays, which produce almost 80 percent less radiation than traditional X-rays, and Panorex imaging when needed.
4. An oral cancer screening.
5. A personalized treatment plan. Our dentist consults with patients to pinpoint treatment options that meet their specific needs.

Insurance and Payment

Apopka Smiles is in-network with most insurance PPO providers. Our financial staff will submit claims and forms to your insurance company on your behalf. We accept checks, cash, all major credit cards and CareCredit. If you don't have insurance, we'll work with you to create a treatment plan and payment arrangement that fits your budget.

How early should I arrive for my first appointment?

Arriving a few minutes early gives us time to review your forms and insurance.

What if I don't have dental insurance?

Our team will discuss a treatment plan at the lowest possible cost and can arrange payment plans.

Can I bring my children to their first visit with me?

Yes. Patients of all ages are welcome. See our Kids Dentistry page.

Do I need to bring my old dental records?

If you have recent X-rays or records from a previous dentist, bring them or ask your previous office to send them. It helps our dentist understand your dental history, though it isn't required.

Can I complete the forms at the office?

Yes. If you can't fill them out ahead of time, arrive a little early and we'll provide forms when you check in.
